Congrats TCO Competitors!
If you have the opportunity please send your congratulations to the dancers in our photo, they all performed wonderfully and were FANTASTIC Ballroom ambassadors for our community this past weekend - Thursday and Friday July 12, 13 - when they represented Bemidji,
and Suzy and Hondo School of Dance, at the annual Twin Cities Open Ballroom Dance Championship.
Collectively, and Left to Right, Spud Solors, Riley Bresina, Kari Waller, Jessie Dewey, Tia Langhout, Suzy, Tyra Langhout, Hondo, and Lenore Siems competed in 33 heats in seven dances (Cha Cha, Rumba, East Coast Swing, Fox Trot, Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz) and received 13 first place awards,
10 second place awards and 1 Third place awards, plus an unexpected appearance as background dancers on the Fox 9 morning show.
We are absolutely thrilled with their performances and we could not be more proud. The group was also supported with a wonderful contingency of friends and family and fans who attended as spectators.
The Twin Cities Open is the premier ballroom dance event in Minnesota and is part of the dancers cup tour - a ten event championship series with competitions in Nashville, TN. Irvine, CA. Saint Louis, MO. Milwaukee, WI. Scottsdale, AZ. Minneapolis, MN. Kansas City, MO. Jacksonville,
